This project is an interactive web console for the ATARI C-100, commonly known as the ATARI Pong Console.
The older ATARI consoles (as all old consoles) are outdated. It's relevancy with the modern day gamer grows thinner and thinner. I wanted to find a way to create a hybrid ATARI experience. An experience that crosses a bridge between old gamers and new by translating the ATARI C-100 (Pong) into a modern project.
To do that, I wanted to take the printed manual, and turn it into a virtual space where users can manually set up the console and play it.
The very basic skeleton of the main consistent pages. The black border was intended to map out the television filter for the entire project. The orange box is meant to represent the manual that behaves as a side menu that the user can review.
Users can manually install and operate the console using an intuitive interface. The interactive design allows for clicking and dragging to navigate the console functions. The project incorporates the official ATARI manual, making it easier for users to understand and engage with the console's mechanics. Designed to attract a wide audience, this simulation allows both older gamers familiar with the Pong Console and newer gamers to appreciate the history and evolution of home gaming.
This web console serves as a bridge between generations of gamers, allowing everyone to experience and appreciate the roots of home gaming in a playful, informative way.
